The Pleasure Project

A Micro-Retreat for Busy Women to Turn-on Delight and Tap into Fun!

When was the last time you did something just because it felt good?

Sun 25th May 11am - 3pm

At The Exchange

98 Macquarie St Dubbo

$250

To all the people pleasers, fixers, responsible ones, and rescuers, this is for you!

(It’s especially for you if you feel fun is something for other people — not for you anymore)!

In my work as a psychologist, I’ve noticed that so many women don’t regularly, or ever, connect with what gives them pleasure

And I’m not even talking about sex.

I mean that toe-tingling, natural high that makes you shine from the inside out when you do something you love.

Instead, they’re like a juggler on a tightrope, with an audience waiting for a ball to be dropped!

Body taut with tension and a mind like a ball of string about to unravel.

That feeling of trying so damn hard all the time, silently wondering does anyone even notice?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard women say, “If I stop, it won’t get done and it’ll only make things harder”.

And the guilt if you do stop - it’s unrelenting and exhausting!

Too often women push on to a reward at the finish line that never gets reached, caught up in the lie that pleasure is something to do once the doing gets done

Sound familiar?

And this makes me sad, because pleasure is the secret sauce that accentuates and elevates everyday moments

and takes the heat out of the super tough and stressful ones.

Hi, I’m Dr Mitzi

A few years ago, when someone asked me, ‘What do you do for fun?’, I nearly lost it! FUN?! I had two kids, two post-grad degrees, and a career—who had time for fun?!"

But the question got me thinking and it started a quest that re-connected me with my fun side

What I learned is that if you’ve abandoned or neglected your pleasure and innate joyfulness you can get it back!

(You are not a boring person, repeat, “I am not a boring person!”)

AND connecting with the part of you that does things just for fun is GOOD FOR YOU and the people you love.

The power of pleasure isn’t in long-anticipated holidays or fancy dinners out.

When I slowed down enough to notice, pleasure was present in the small, simple moments—waiting for me to notice all along.

I became captivated by the play of early morning sunlight on my blank kitchen wall

Enthralled by the unfurling of red, velvety petals from a plant I rescued from a $5 sales rack

Seduced by the swish of an outrageous vermillion maxi skirt against my legs.

These weren’t just fleeting moments—they were invitations to live more fully.

Allowing myself to be touched and moved by beauty and sensation became an act of self-devotion.

It opened up an experience of the world that was truly delicious and desirable.

I went from a life of head-dictated to-do’s to fully embodied living.

Where play and pleasure became a deep well of abundance—an internal resource that sustains and energizes me, even through the tricky and challenging bits.

And that’s what this retreat is designed to help you do, too.

To discover what lights you up, so you can bring that energy back into your real, everyday life.

If you've ever thought, ‘I just don’t have time for this,’ or ‘It’s not that important,’ I get it.

But what if I told you that reconnecting with your fun-side actually makes you more resilient, less overwhelmed, and even more present for the people you love?

So why aren’t we all having more pleasure?

Our inner critic (that voice in your head that comments on how you’re doing) often gets in the way and spreads a bunch of unhelpful garbage –

Like: ‘play comes after we work’, ‘pleasure is a reward to be earned’, (blah de blah blah…).

I’ve seen it over and over again: When you quieten that inner critic and let go of all that cultural conditioning priming us to be good girls (busy, over-committed, do-ers),

It unlocks the freedom to immerse in the joy of being.

Far from making us lazy and selfish, the real truth is women (and their families, and their colleagues and their communities) THRIVE when they connect with what feels good!

That’s exactly why I’ve created the Pleasure Project - for women just like you - to go from depleted, discouraged and disconnected to lit up, fiercely alive + liberated!

The Pleasure Project is perfect for you if you want the tools to go from

Lackluster to Loving your Life again!

When was the last time you gave yourself the kind of pleasure that left you energized—not exhausted?

Our bodies love the dopamine that comes from pleasure, but are you getting it in all the wrong ways?

Doomscrolling, sugar hits, and that ‘one glass’ of wine that turns into half a bottle—these things feel like a break…

But they don’t actually reset your frazzled nervous system. They’re coping mechanisms, not cures.

We may think we’re giving ourselves a reward, but we’re actually stuck in an unhealthy habit of detached self-soothing.

What women need is a chance to come together, form connections, unshackle some of the shizzle we hold (shame, guilt, fear), and have a lil’ fun!

On my micro-retreat you will be guided towards finding your fun-side and discovering what’s kept it hidden away.

You’ll walk away with the skills and experiences you need to explore what lights you up!

There’ll be movement, music and merry-making, while accessing psychological tools, informed by neuroscience.

What You’ll Experience at the PLEASURE PROJECT Micro-Retreat

  • Learning & Laughter

Psychological strategies to help you shift from “overdoing” to enjoying, so you can build your emotional bandwidth and tone down your reactivity

  • Playfulness & Creativity

Gentle guidance to rediscover the fun of being in the moment, without your guilt, so you can bypass your inner critic and get down to the deeply satisfying business of self-expression

  • Your Pleasure Profile

Explore what you actually love, in a way that feels right for you. You’ll be gently supported in playfulness and creativity, and experience practices to discover your pleasure profile.

  • Stress-Relief Through Fun

Because play and connection aren’t an indulgent luxury, they’re a reset button for your nervous system so you’re not constantly reacting to triggers.

In our micro-retreat, you’ll feel the bouncy buzz of energy that we all crave that comes with releasing stress in fun, playful ways.

Science is showing that women coming together (activating our flock response), releases oxytocin and lowers cortisol and adrenalin.  It’s important for our wellbeing!

The aim of the Pleasure Project is for you to rediscover what it feels like to move, laugh, and connect without guilt or agenda.

It’s not just about having fun—it’s about remembering what lights you up so you can bring that energy back into your day.

It’s about coming back to who you are, before the world told you otherwise.

Now we all know that what is ‘fun’, enjoyable or pleasurable for one person, isn’t the same for another.  And that’s fantastic! We all have our unique pleasure profiles.

What we all share, though, is the capacity for pleasure, and when we experience this, it can transform stress and hardship.
